(Murasaki (purple) Mama has become Momoiro (pink) Mama!)
The 2010 online cloth community Breast Cancer Fundraiser will be held in October to coincide with the annual Pink Ribbon Day. (Pink Ribbon Day this year is Monday 25th).
Last year (with extremely short notice!) a small group of WAHP* (*Work At Home Parents) from the cloth community donated goods to be auctioned and sold official Merchandise raising over $1000!
This money was donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on behalf of the "Australian WAHP Cloth Nappy Community". Considering the goal we started out with was $300, we did pretty darn well! This year we are hoping to double that figure. And with your help, it could become reality
We are asking WAHMs to please donate something that can be used to auction off to raise money for this cause. All items that are donated will be auctioned off on the Murasaki Mama online store, and the proceeds from the auctions (less postage costs) will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Wednesday September 23rd 2010 – All donations to be received by this date. Which means if you are in W.A you need to post your donation no later than Wednesday September 16th.
Friday 1st October 2010 - Our store goes live. Pink Ribbon merchandise will be available for sale through the whole month of October. There will also be a notice that we have auction coming in October with details.
Monday 18th October - This is the day the fundraising store will go live on Murasaki Mama.
4.00pm - All auction items go into "preview mode". This means they are not available for purchase/to be bid on, but they are viewable to the public.
7.30pm - All auctions go "live". Which means everything is available to be purchased/bid on.
Monday 25th October [Pink Ribbon Day] - Auctions will close 9pm.
Tuesday 26th October - Payments are to be paid by 4pm. This gives all direct deposits enough time to be cleared into the bank, even by internet banking by the goal of Friday 29th October.
Friday 29th October 2010 – Donation made to the Breast Cancer Foundation.
To avoid raised money being wasted on PayPal fees, payment will only be by Direct Deposit. Auction totals will have postage included - so this will mean postage will be subtracted from our grand total. Once all payments are received & items posted out. The total amount received will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. The goal day to make our donation is Friday October 29th - This is so it is done while it is still Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Our theme is PINK. Preferably something for a Woman rather than a child. But it's not essential :)
It could be anything... yarn, an apron, a piece of jewellery, menstrual pads, breast pads... anything a Woman could want, but if possible follow our PINK theme.
